Theme Descriptions
Inventors Lab: Engineering
This week is all about invention and innovation! Campers brainstorm real-world problems, prototype creative solutions, and explore circuits, motion, and mechanics. With micro:bits, motors, and imagination, they'll bring their ideas to life. The week ends with an Inventors' Expo, where campers can showcase their engineering masterpieces.
Slime Lab
Slime Lab lets campers explore chemistry through gooey, hands-on fun. Campers discover how polymers work, investigate states of matter, and experiment with non-Newtonian fluids that act like both solids and liquids. By testing recipes and creating color-changing slime, campers learn how chemical reactions and material properties affect how slime stretches, flows, and responds. This lab sparks curiosity, creativity, and scientific thinking for campers of all ages.
Tech Creator Lab
The ultimate creativity challenge! Campers invent, prototype, and test new ideas across technology, science, engineering, and art. They'll experiment with robots, coding, laser cutters, circuits, 3D design, and everyday materials to create functional and engaging projects. The week finishes with a "Future Fair," where campers share their most imaginative innovations.
Kitchen Chemistry: Edible Experiments & Fizzy Reactions
Science has never tasted this good! Campers dive into food-based experiments that explore states of matter, density, and chemical reactions. They'll make density towers, edible polymers, and turn liquids into ice cream, all while learning the science behind food. The week wraps up with a Pop-Up Science Café, where kids sample their discoveries.
Note: While we try our best to accommodate food allergies, this week is not recommended for campers with severe food allergies.
Mad Science
A week of explosive curiosity! Campers transform into scientists as they explore chemistry, physics, and energy through colorful, fizzy, and interactive experiments. From volcano reactions and magnetic races to rockets and density towers, every day brings a new surprise. Campers finish the week with a Mad Science Fair full of hands-on demos."
Game Design Lab
In this action-packed week, campers dive into the science, engineering, and design behind both digital and physical games. They’ll build hands-on creations like marble mazes, tabletop challenges, and obstacle courses, while also designing and coding their own digital games using Scratch and interactive sensors. By blending creativity, logic, robots, and teamwork, campers explore how games work in the real world and using digital tools — becoming true inventors of fun. The week wraps up with a STEM Arcade Fair, where other campers can play, test, and celebrate the games they brought to life, both physical and digital. Campers will also get to meet a Google and Apple alumni and real life game designer!
KPOP (Demon Hunters Academy: The Science of Light & Shadow)
Enter the world of light, energy, and imagination! Inspired by storytelling and adventure, campers will use LEDs, UV light, and magnets to explore how light and shadow create effects in nature and art. They'll make glowing amulets, test light diffusion, and work together to "banish darkness" in this K-Pop themed week.
LEGO® Engineering Lab
Calling all builders! This week is dedicated to hands-on engineering with LEGO® bricks and beyond. Campers will learn fundamental engineering concepts while constructing everything from simple machines to motorized robots. They'll explore gear ratios, structural stability, and creative problem-solving as they build, test, and improve their designs. The week culminates in an engineering showcase of camper masterpieces.
This program is not sponsored by or affiliated with the LEGO® company.
Animal Science: Paws, Claws & STEM
Dive into the extraordinary world of animals, nature, and science through hands-on, inquiry-based STEM adventures! Campers become animal engineers and biologists, discovering how animals survive and thrive by exploring anatomy, behavior, adaptations, and habitats across wild species and domestic pets. Engineers put their skills to the test by designing and building habitats, shelters, and enrichment toys that meet real animal needs. The week bursts to life with up-close animal encounters and a visit from a local animal expert, giving campers a thrilling chance to see science in action and connect with live animals in ways they’ll never forget.
STEM Discovery
The grand finale of summer — a week of exploration across all branches of STEM! Each day features a different STEM theme, such as Mad Science, Engineering, Coding, Robots, and more. Campers will dive into hands-on challenges that blend creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration, bringing together skills they’ve built all summer into exciting new projects. It’s a celebration of curiosity and innovation — the perfect way to close out an amazing summer of discovery. Please note, this camp will be offered at CBI and NYC only (full day).
