What your scouts will do
Scouts work in small groups with a Genius Gems instructor. Everyone codes; nobody just watches.
- Learn what an algorithm is — and write one
- Program a robot to follow their commands
- Use loops to build a short animation
- Meet the women who shaped computer science

How booking works
- Pick a weekend time that works for your troop

- Pay now, or reserve and pay later by check or invoice
- Show up and earn the badge
Troop paying by check or purchase order? Choose "pay later" at booking — the balance is due the Thursday before your event.
Simple per-scout pricing
- Millburn, NJ: $25 per scout. Minimum 9 scouts per event. 30-minute add-on: Add a leader-supervised building challenge, or free play on the floor, for 30 minutes before or after the badge hour — $10 per scout, when the schedule around your hour allows.
- Chelsea, NYC: $35 per scout. Minimum 9 scouts per event. 30-minute add-on: Add a leader-supervised building challenge, or free play on the floor, for 30 minutes before or after the badge hour — $15 per scout, when the schedule around your hour allows.
Chaperones join free.

Which levels do you serve?
Daisies, Brownies and Juniors. Cadettes or older? Ask us — we'd be happy to craft a program suited to that age.
Is there a minimum troop size?
Yes — 9 scouts. Smaller troop? Ask us about joining another troop's event.
Do chaperones pay?
No. Chaperones join free.
Can we come at a different time?
Yes. The standard times are the ones you can book online; if none fit, send us a request with a few times that work and we'll confirm one.
Can our troop pay by check or purchase order?
Yes. Choose "pay later" when you book; the balance is due the Thursday before your event and we'll send reminders.
Does this earn an official badge?
The hour is built around the coding badge requirements for each level. Leaders award the badge; we provide the activity and a Genius Gems STEM fun patch for every scout (troop leaders are welcome to bring their own official patch).
